Configurations

Here you will find various configurations that are coming from my desktop machines running Gentoo Linux. I provide a brief description of used configuration options and some screen shots to prove that given configuration worked well for me.

I divided my configurations into separate categories to make it easier for you to find interesting content.

If you are new to the Linux world, don't worry not all distributions force the user to manually create those kind of files. In fact many will provide such configurations for you, and those configurations will work well. But well is not enough for me and every Gentoo Linux user. Reading documentation and optimizing the way our system works is fun for us.

Xorg - X server configuration:

Radeon Dual Screen -  Here you will find Xorg configuration for Radeon free opensource Driver using RandR 1.2 specification for double screen configuration. This configuration supports 3D acceleration.
Nvidia Dual Screen -  Here you will find Xorg configuration for Nvidia proprietary driver, which uses Nvidia TwinView technology to support double screen configuration with full 3D acceleration on both attached screens.

LM Sensors - System senors configuration:

ASUS M6N Notebook -  Here you will find system sensors configuration for my old ASUS M6N Notebook. This configuration includes kernel module and core lm_sensors configuration.
Asus P5AD2 Deluxe -  Here you will find system senors configuration for my main computer ASUS P5AD2 Deluxe motherboard.

ACPI - Advanced Configuration and Power Interface:

ASUS M6N Notebook -  Here you will find advanced ACPI configuration for my old ASUS M6N notebook. Configuration includes the kernel and scripts for supporting multimedia control buttons in KDE.

Lirc - Linux Infrared Remote Control:

Lirc for Creative LiveDrive -  Here you will find Creative Live Drive for SB Audigy 4 Pro lirc configuration. This configuration allows me to manage my computer remotely using the infrared remote control.
